Don’t Miss These Restaurants in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama During Your Holiday Travels

I can’t think of a better combination than a beach and Southern comfort food, and that’s exactly what Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama has.

All of their restaurants are within a short driving distance, giving you a chance to try some of everything. Like most places nowadays, there is quite a wait so make reservations where you can if you’re limited on patience.

Here are a few places that we tried and loved.

Like most places that are seaside, Playa specializes in seafood and the drinks didn’t disappoint either. They offer everything from an array of appetizers, like the smoked tuna dip and fried grits, to desserts, like their delicious key lime pie. I don’t know about you but if key lime pie is on the menu, I’m trying it! I love that they also offered a kid’s menu for my daughter who wasn’t quite ready to take down a full entree on her own.

The Yard Milkshake Bar

This place was a sweet tooth’s DREAM! They have these elaborate milkshakes that come topped with additional desserts like cupcakes, gummy worms or even a slice of cheesecakes. Yes, you read that right and yes, you can see that’s right below. Oh an if you’re counting calories while on vacation, you’re doing it wrong. Go ahead and treat yourself!

So I saved the best for last, well my fav at least, and that ladies and gentleman is…

Ruby Slipper Cafe.

I haven’t been to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama in a year and I feel like I can still taste their food. They had these French Toast bites with some sort of cream cheese icing drizzled on top that were mind-blowing, taste-bud blowing, if that’s a thing. They were meant to be an appetizer but I ordered another one because they didn’t last very long between three people. I’m preparing my next road trip as we speak and this place is at the top of my itinerary.
