Atlanta Life: Barnsley Resort

Hey guys!  I  have to say that I just love the ‘Atlanta Life’ segment on my site.  I get to explore the city and share some of my favorite spots with you all.  Today’s spotlight is on the infamous, Barnsley Resort.

Weekend getaways are so underrated when it comes to #travelgoals .  Everyone can’t afford to go to Brazil one weekend and Tokyo the next, but  I wanted to celebrate my birthday somewhere “out of town” but simple, affordable for my friends, and fun.  I chose Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, GA, about an hour and a half outside of the city of Atlanta.  I was very impressed to say the least!

There are 3 things that I base my opinion on for hotels, bed & breakfast, resorts, etc. 1) Service: does the staff appreciate my business? The service at Barnsley was impeccable! The reception office was warm and welcoming, our waitress, Taylor, at the restaurant on site was so sweet, and even the guest services department that brought the requested items to our cottage was outstanding. 2) Ambiance: the scenery and facility should match my expectations.  The Ambiance was exactly what an intimate weekend getaway should be. The cottages give a quaint bed and breakfast vibe with a splash of modern features. and 3) Unique attributes: fun activities, swim up bars, drink specials, etc.  The unique attributes of the resort were the activities to choose from.  Some of the activities include: kayaking, golf, horseback riding, and much more.  To view a full list of the activities and pricing for each, click here http://www.barnsleyresort.com/admin/Documents/2017%20Activities%20Rate%20Card.pdf

Barnsley Gardens is rich in history too! There’s a museum on site about the origin of the facility and a few ancient ruins of the past to put you in the story so that you’re literally walking through history.

There are a various amount of activities to partake in, we chose horseback riding for our adventure!

After a day of horseback riding and exploring the grounds, we ate an amazing dinner and I believe the rolls were made in heaven, if I’m not mistaken ha!

After a long day with our bellies full, it was time to wind down.  We called guest services for additional blankets, pillows, and our S’mores kit!

We had plenty of s’mores for hours of girl talk and wine tasting.  If I could change anything about the trip, it would be to come later in the Spring when the weather is more predictable.  Otherwise, I can’t wait to return to Barnsley again.  When I do, my girls are coming with me and we’ll be taking advantage of their new “Annie Get Your Fun” Package.  Click on the link below for pricing info.
