Atlanta Life: The Atlanta Beltline

There are INFINITE, BOUNDLESS, TONS of things to do in Atlanta.  But my favorite things to do here in Atlanta, are free.  One free place that’s at the top of my list is The Atlanta Beltline.

The Atlanta Beltline (TAB) is a biking trail/people watching trail/walking trail/dog trail.  Catch my drift?  It’s whatever you make it to be and whatever you want it to be. TAB is an outdoor space that provides a trail to connect neighborhoods, a multitude of parks, and two large marketplaces, Krog St. Market (@krogstmarket) and Ponce City Market (@poncecitymarket).

The Atlanta Beltline has housing (expensive FYI), restaurants, and tons of street art on its path.

The most purposeful use of The Atlanta Beltline is exercise.  It’s a great spot to job, ride your bike, walk your dog, and even rollerblade.  If you don’t have a bike, don’t fret, you can “bike share” with @relaybikeshare .  Check out their Instagram to find out how to reserve, ride, and return their super cute blue bikes.

If you are walking or riding The Atlanta Beltline, you HAVE to stop by the best ice cream shop in the city located in Krog Street Market.  Jeni’s Ice Creams for the win! @jenisicecreams (pictured: juniper & lemon curd sorbet).

Don’t feel guilty about the additional calories.  After all, you can walk them off on the belt line 🙂

You can definitely make an entire day of The Atlanta Beltline, especially if you incorporate going into Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market.  The Spring time is perfect for exploring the area.  Please be cautious when choosing to adventure out during the summer months, as you are walking directly under the sun on black asphalt.  During the summer, I recommend going right before sundown or very early in the day.  Bring plenty of water for yourself, your children, and pets.  Most of all, ENJOY!
