Once the holidays are over, it’s almost a ritual to get your game face on and prepare your house for the Big Game. It’s the best way to KICK off the new year, no pun or PUNT intended, ha! It’s an exciting time to put up the fine China, break out the paper plates, gear up your table spread with the classics like Tostitos®, Doritos®, Lay’s® and Pepsi® and start the countdown to crunchtime…which looks a little different this year.

Most of you know that I work in Communications, so I’ve noticed that there aren’t as many large displays inside of stores for the Big Game this year. If I had to put on my “Communications hat” and guess, it would be because most retailers, like Publix, are trying to promote responsible gatherings. Publix and I are definitely on the same page about responsibility this year, which is why I love shopping with them. Everything is easy to find and even when I can’t find something, there’s always an employee around to help me out and find it for me. Although our increased responsibility might seem like it puts a damper in our plans this year, this doesn’t mean that we have to miss out on the snacks!

For someone that doesn’t keep up with sports, such as myself, the snacks are the best part of the Big Game and for someone that is into sports, the snacks come in a close second and maybe even secretly a first as well. The thing to remember and to provide some sort of normalcy this year is that our change of plans don’t mean cancelled. It actually means let’s get CREATIVE.

So I partnered with PepsiCo, a few of their brands and Publix to show you my creative way to celebrate the Big Game this year!

Game Day Gift Basket

One of my friends recently bought a new home and I know for a fact that one of the things her husband was looking forward to about their new space was hosting a bunch of friends and family over for the Big Game. They bought a large tv, a sectional sofa…I mean they went all out, ready to entertain. I’m sure he’s pretty bummed out about it, so I decided to make him a Game Day gift basket with all of these PepsiCo necessities for their family.

As you can see, in my basket I’m including the Big Game essentials! Smartfood® White Cheddar popcorn, cans and bottles of PEPSI® Zero Sugar, Tostitos® SCOOPS!® Tortilla Chips, Tostitos® Mild Chunky Salsa and my personal favorite, Doritos® Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips.
