Homemade McMuffins

While it might not be as cheap or as easy as pulling up in a McDonald’s drive-thru, these are definitely worth it. They taste better, I’m sure they’re healthier and the best part is that you can put whatever you want on the inside.  Which leads me to why I wouldn’t call this an official recipe because the ingredients can vary so much. I’ll show you what I put in mine but you can totally feel free to use this little sandwich maker how you see fit.

For my sandwich, I used:

2 eggs

2 strips of bacon

1 English muffin

1 slice of white American cheese

For these, you will need this awesome sandwich maker. It’s super small and easy to throw in your cabinet once you’re finished. Here’s the link to the sandwich maker,

First, I cut the English muffin in half and place one half on the bottom of the sandwich maker.
Then I make sure that the lever on the side separates the next layer and add the eggs onto the hot plate.

Once the egg is cooked around the edges (takes about 7-9 min.) and a little bit jiggly in the center, I then place my cheese and bacon on top.

Then place the other half of the muffin on top and let it cook for about another 2-3 min.

Once cooked, you’ll pull back the lever (pic below) and allow the egg + bacon + cheese to come together into the same compartments and remove it all at once.

Once removed, viola! You’ve just made your own egg McMuffin at home.
