Listen, once you make homemade pop-tarts you’re going to turn your nose up at the ones in the box.
So about two weeks ago, I made homemade jam and had a whole jar left in the fridge.

I didn’t want to waste it so I decided to make a recipe that I had saved on my Pinterest, homemade pop-tarts. Check out the recipe below!

Cook Time

Total Time
35 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup jam of your choice (I used homemade Mango jam)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp cold water
- 1 pack of 9 inch pie crust
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 heavy whipping cream
- sprinkles
- parchment paper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper
- Unroll pie crusts on lightly floured countertop/board
- Roll out crusts with hand or rolling pin
- Cut off the edges to form a large square
- Cut 8 equal squares (about 5 inches tall + 3 inches wide)
- Poke holes in 4 of them, you'll use those for the tops (like a real pop-tart)
- Put jam in sauce pan and heat over medium heat
- In small bowl mix cornstarch and water
- Pour that mixture into sauce pan
- Continue to mix to avoid jam getting stuck to the bottom
- Spoon small amount into middle of 4 bottom tart squares
- Spread evenly but keeping most of it in the middle
- Take the squares with holes in them (your tops) and place on top
- Use fork to crimp edges together
- Place on baking sheet and bake for 9-10 minutes / light brown
- While they're cooking, make your frosting
- Frosting:
- Small bowl mix powdered sugar, whipping cream
- Allow tarts to cool
- Apply frosting to top of pop-tart
- Apply sprinkles
